Art of Nursing Award

Art of Nursing Award

Art of Nursing Award

The Royal Melbourne Graduate Nurses’ Association introduced this annual award to acknowledge and celebrate RMH nurses who embody the Art of Nursing.  In 2025 we advertised two Art of Nursing Awards - a graduate nurse & Grade 2+ nurse, and the award increased to $1000 per winner.

Unfortunately, we had no applications and no winners for 2025 so are investigating ways to increase our profile with the current nursing staff at RMH.

To apply: complete the nomination form below & email to rmhgna@outlook.com or fill out the online nomination form below.

RMGNA Art of Nursing Award

Momoka Yoshida (2023 Co-winner)

Momoka was nominated for her commitment to professional excellence, constantly updating her evidence-based practice by attending workshops and seminars and engaging in self-directed learning.

She approaches her nursing care with enthusiasm and optimism and is determined to improve the care provided to, and outcomes for, her patients. This commitment to patient-centred care was evident in Momoka’s personal goal of improving communication between the patients in her care and their multidisciplinary team; not only through thorough patient education but also by ensuring her patients needs were heard and met in a kind, compassionate and effective manner.

Joel Fitgerald (2023 Co-winner)

Joel was nominated for his positive, compassionate attitude that allows him to create strong connections with his patients, their family members, peers and the multidisciplinary team.  He personifies kindness and helpfulness,  making time to actively listen to others and collaboratively find solutions to their issues or concerns.  His growth mindset meant that what others saw as  challenges, he saw as opportunities to learn, grow and help others and always ensured his patients received the best of care in a positive, healing environment.
